As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I had the opportunity to experience the unique charm of Thompson Hollywood. The bar at the hotel is a standout feature, offering a variety of delicious drinks and food options, including juicy tacos that are a must-try. The bartenders are friendly and skilled, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Thompson Hollywood is a top choice for those looking for a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing stay in the Hollywood area.

Stayed here for a job in the Hollywood Hills, and was really pleasantly surprised. I'd definitely stay here again, and recommend it for other folks looking for an affordable, stylish, and well-appointed place in Hollywood. ROOM I snagged a room on the top (10th) floor, and it was huge, with a daybed and a cafe table - about 1/3 larger than my colleague's room 2 doors down. The touches and furnishings are modern, minimalist, and classy. I loved the glass closet to hang your things, and the motion light at the foot of the bathroom. One annoyance about the room - the thermostat (basically a computer screen) doesn't dim at night, so there's a blaring light in your face all night. Bring an eye mask. THE ROOFTOP POOL & RESTAURANT The rooftop is a perfect spot for co-working, newspaper reading, and ordering a decent - if very pricey - breakfast. And the rooftop pool is beautiful, and almost always empty before 9am (on weekdays), so you can have a reliably solo swim if you're up on the earlier side. VALET Great, and you can text them on your way down and they'll usually have your car ready in 5-7 minutes. There's ample metered street parking along the block if you're stopping by. SURROUNDING AREA This isn't an area you really want to walk around in, especially after dark. However, two great food spots are closeby: Mother Wolf (Evan Funke's new Roman pasta joint) is in the building next door, and Mad Lab Coffee is a 3 min walk around the corner.

This hotel is amazing, from the front desk to the lobby bar to the rooftop bar, the pool area and the rooms, everything is very nice and clean. Staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous. We will definitely stay there again.

Had a fantastic night here. Loved working from the pool the morning after my stay. The room was perfect. Highly recommend.

I did not stay at the Thompson Hollywood. I stayed at the Tommie next door, it's sister hotel. Walking into the hotel, the exterior is elegant. There were plenty of outdoor seating. The valet staff were friendly. The lobby was dark and warm. The smell in the lobby was very pleasant. The front desk is to the left while the elevator is to the right. As a Hyatt Globalist, I had a complimentary breakfast, $32 per person. I went over this amount and I was charged on my bill for it. The shashuka was very good. It is vegetarian. The spice was just right. The Flatbread that came with it was hard and difficult to eat. That was disappointing. The price for a bowl of fruit was $10. I'm not sure it was worth that amount. The view up on the terrace was very nice. The seating was tight. The service was hit or miss but overall not bad. If it weren't for my status with Hyatt and my complimentary breakfast, I probably wouldn't come here to eat but for a complimentary breakfast through Tommie, I am very glad that I could eat here.

My husband and I were in town for a work function and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff from valet, checkin, bar and room service were all super helpful and courteous. Our room was clean and well equipped for our two night stay. This is a smaller hotel but we found it aesthetically pleasing and would consider this hotel in the future if we need to stay in the area. Great stay and thank you for your hospitality!

This is for the bar and it is so amazing!! Such a unique little spot... makes me want to go out a bit more these days, tbh. Everything from the decor to the drinks to the food... just perfection. The bartenders are kind and know how to make some pretty special drinks. I forgot the name of mine but boy was it yummy... stiff and on fire?! Yep! A small stage set up for a band and the most amazing food... seriously they were such delicious tacos. So good that I didn't even want to put salsa on them. Delicious and juicy.. I want more now as I'm writing this!!

Fran checked us in, acknowledged our Hyatt status and gave us 2 drink vouchers. I specifically requested a quiet room, farthest from the club, and i'm happy to report we got a good night's sleep and woke up to a clear view of the Hollywood sign. We were in town to watch Mamma Mia at Pantages Theater. It is a 10 minute walk to the theater and to the Sunday farmer's market on Selma x Cahuenga. We didn't valet, we found cheaper overnight parking ($22) on Cahuenga x Sunset. There are uppity restaurants in the area as well as an LA hotdog cart right outside the club entrance around midnight onwards. Coffee and tea in the lobby from 7-10am, 2 comp bottled waters in the room + slippers, fast wifi, lots of Uber. Saw a 30 lb. doodle coming out of a room and very evident that this is not a kid-friendly area.
